The release includes performance and feature improvements in both Scimore Parallel Server and Scimore Embedded Database. The new version is now 3 to 4 times faster.

Unfortunately, these changes have led to incompatibility with older versions. Therefore, to upgrade you will need to backup the databases, uninstall the current version, install v2.0 and restore the backups. The .NET provider and C++ client classes must also be updated.

The major improvements and features since 1.5

Network. Optimized Client/Server communication layer. After optimization, simple queries are now 4 times faster.
HEAP tables. A heap is a table without a clustered index. Heaps usually occupy half the disk and memory space of b+tree data structures, which can greatly improve performance.
Replicated Tables. A Replicated table is a table when CREATE TABLE statement does not set a PARTITION key. In a cluster, replicated tables' content will be exactly the same on each node. All modification on replicated tables will be propagated to all nodes. Transactions are committed when all nodes completed any modifications to these replicated tables. Read transactions greatly benefit performance, since the data can be extracted from any node. However, write transactions will degrade with the increasing number of the nodes in the cluster. For instance, for OLAP queries, the best practice is to replicate dimension tables and partition (round-robin) the fact table.
User Defined Procedures. User defined procedures let you create your own external routines. These routines are loaded via DLLs, written in a programming language such as C/C++ that ScimoreDB can dynamically load and run directly in the database’s address space. Read more...
